A Life Illuminated
Marine biologist Dr. Edie Widder undertakes a daring descent 3,300 feet below the ocean’s surface to document a mysterious bioluminescent phenomenon. Combining footage from her latest expedition with archival material from her pioneering career, the film explores her lifelong quest to illuminate the hidden wonders of the deep sea and highlights the importance of preserving its fragile ecosystems.
Directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tasha Van Zandt, Woods Hole Film Festival's 2022 Filmmaker in Residence.

Rush tickets are offered when a screening or event is sold out. The Rush system functions as a standby line that will form at the venue approximately one hour prior to scheduled start time.
